The three-member committee established by the National Democratic Congress (NDC) to probe allegations of vote-buying and inducement during the Ayawaso East parliamentary primary is set to submit its report today, Tuesday, February 10, 2026.
The committee was constituted following claims that some aspirants engaged in bribery to influence delegates in the primary election held on Saturday, February 7, 2026.
One of the key allegations centres on aspirant Baba Jamal, who is accused of distributing television sets, cash, and other items to delegates in a bid to sway their votes. Mr Jamal ultimately emerged victorious in the contest, but the result has triggered significant controversy.
The Majority caucus in Parliament and some prominent NDC members have called for the election outcome to be annulled, while constituency party executives have firmly rejected such demands.
Speaking to Citi News on Monday, February 9, 2026, committee member Inusah Fuseini described the panel’s role as strictly fact-finding and confirmed that the team has been engaging all relevant stakeholders.
“We are a fact-finding committee, so we must gather evidence. In doing that, we must speak to all persons who were connected to the Ayawaso East NDC primaries,” he said.
Mr Fuseini noted that the committee has already interacted with party officials who supervised the election, the candidates involved, as well as constituency and regional executives.
“So we are speaking with the party representatives who supervised the election, we are also speaking with the candidates, and some of the constituency executives and regional executives. We will make recommendations to the party,” he added.
The committee’s report and recommendations are expected to play a critical role in determining the NDC’s next course of action regarding the disputed primary results and the allegations of inducement.
