The Minority in Parliament has demanded that the Ministry of the Interior refund approximately GH¢113 million collected as application fees from applicants disqualified during the ongoing recruitment exercise into the country’s security services. The call comes after Interior Minister Mubarak Mohammed Muntaka disclosed that more than 105,000 applicants have qualified for the medical stage of the process, even though only 5,000 positions are available for final enlistment. The Ministry of Health has suspended Fredrick Anaba, Principal of the College of Nursing, Nkanchina, over allegations of over-admission of students and the introduction of unapproved academic programmes. The suspension follows the launch of a full administrative investigation by the Ministry into the reported irregularities. Mr Anaba was initially queried on 19 February 2026 concerning admissions for the 2025/2026 academic year. A man has been arrested following the suspected killing of an unidentified woman believed to be his girlfriend at Bentum in the Awutu Senya District of the Central Region. The suspect, identified as Horlali Alatusa, a spiritualist in his early 20s, was apprehended after authorities received a complaint from another farmer about a terrible stench emanating from his farmland.
